My recent trip to London began in an abandoned airport full of people laying all over the floors, tables, and chairs. It was about 3 in the morning, there were virtually no airport employees anywhere, and most of the lights were off. It looked like we had arrived at the aftermath of a disastrous battle full of casualties. We were surrounded by bodies.
We took the underground a few times, and walked all over the city. Thanks to the owner of our incredible hostel, The Walrus Waterloo, no sites were difficult to find.

Westminster Abbey.
Tower Bridge in the distance.
Meagan D. and I on Tower Bridge.
A tunnel leading to our hostel.
The lamp posts were covered in site information.
Parliament.
The gates at Buckingham Palace.

We asked a gentleman to take a picture of us in front of Buckingham. We figured that because he had an enormous camera around his neck he would not only take a good picture of us, but we wouldn't have to worry about our camera being stolen, as we had heard about. We were all startled to see that he had almost completely cropped the palace out of the picture and had instead zoomed in on the three of us!
We had fish and chips while we were there, naturally. And we sat right next to this smiley guy as we ate it:

Me in a London telephone booth.
We discovered The Clink Prison museum in our travels, and decided to explore.
The highlight of the museum was the 'torture chamber' area. This chastity belt was too small to be very effective, obviously, but the heart is cute.
It does, however, fit on my head. Once again not serving its purpose very well.
And here's Meagan D. getting decapitated.
The building behind the buses is our hostel. The people there were very friendly, and we were right around the corner from the waterloo underground station.

The London Eye.
We walked by Big Ben everyday.
It rained almost the whole trip. Our hostel owner Dave gave us umbrellas that people had left behind, but I immediately discovered why mine was left...
I didn't mind, though. I was far too distracted by how much I missed being in London.

Oh, my heart! You are killing me. These are some great photos that are bringing back a few memories for me. Thanks for keeping us all updated with your adventures.
